An exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service will return to The Works in Newark.
Welcome Back, Habitat! is a program where people can celebrate the return of the Habitat exhibit with the Master Gardeners organization. The family-friendly event will have many activities, like lawn games, bubble wands, and a flowerpot decoration project. Attendees can also visit the Master Gardeners Station. The program will take place in The Works’ LeFevre Courtyard. People can also visit the museum’s Discovery Lab to learn about animal adaptions during the event.
Habitat is an outdoor exhibit that museums can set up themselves. The attraction has several sections, such as Biomes: Life in the Balance, Dead Wood is Life, and Foundation of the Sea. Visitors can learn about how different habitats are interconnected and what people can do to protect the environment. The display has appeared in several notable venues, including the Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden and the Houston Botanic Garden.
The family activity will be held this Saturday, June 1, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. All ages can attend the program. The celebration is free for members of The Works to attend and will be included in the museum admission cost for non-members. Attractions that host activities like this may use banner printing to advertise their future programs to motorists and pedestrians.
