The Kiwanis Club of Newark will be organizing a community event in June to help support local youth activities.
The Newark Strawberry Festival is a traditional event that is returning to the city after being canceled for two years due to COVID-19. This year, the theme is Strawberries on the Square. There will be numerous activities at the gathering, including rides, crafts, and live entertainment. Guests can even try strawberry shortcakes made by the Newark Kiwanis Club and velvet ice cream. Other events held during the fest include the Strawberry Pageant and a strawberry shortcake eating contest.
The Kiwanis Club of Newark is a group founded in 1918 that is dedicated to helping the community through service projects. Past actions of the organization include providing milk to children in need, sponsoring Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and creating safety pamphlets for kids. The club supports Camp O’Bannon, which is a summer camp where children can swim, play games, and interact with peers. Another project supported by the group is the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Network.
The Newark Strawberry Festival will be held from Friday, June 3 to Sunday, June 5. The fair’s operational hours are from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday. Organizations that put together festivals similar to this may promote the occasion with flyer printing.
