Newark to host conference for home inspectors

The Cherry Valley Hotel in Newark will hold an event in March for the American Society of Home Inspectors.

The Midwest Home Inspector Conference is a two-day experience where people can engage with vendors from the home inspection industry and hear from professional presenters. Several speakers will attend the convention, including Bryck Guibor, Mark Parlee, and Dan Zavodney. The discussion topics for the conference will include electrical defects, exterior failures, and multi-family units. There will also be a presentation about how to use social media by James Jones and Tarah Maes.

The American Society of Home Inspectors is a nonprofit organization that was formed in 1976. The group’s Standards of Practice are used by its members and accepted by government authorities. The society has more than 6,000 members throughout the United States and Canada. Those interested in becoming a certified member of the group must complete the National Home Inspector Examination and pass a test on the society’s Standards of Practice.

The home inspector conference will be held from Friday, March 1st to Saturday, March 2nd. The cost to attend the convention will be $499 per person, though members of the American Society of Home Inspectors will receive a discount.
