Newark race to benefit local sports stadium

The Randy Baughman Stadium in Newark will be hosting a 5K in November to raise money for improving its facilities.

The 2nd Annual Panther Prowl 5K gives people an opportunity to get active while supporting a local sports venue. The path for the event will let participants see the stadium’s athletic facilities, including a cross-country course and baseball fields. Refreshments will be offered after the race, and awards are available to those who finish within the top three of their gender division. A limited number of racers will receive a commemorative T-shirt for the event.

The money earned at the 5K will be used to help the Randy Baughman Stadium replace its turf and track. The facility is owned by Licking Valley Local Schools and is primarily used for high school sporting events such as soccer and track. The home team of the venue is the Licking Valley Panthers. The Randy Baughman Stadium can seat more than 3,000 individuals and can accommodate those in wheelchairs.

The 5K will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 10:00 am. Those interested in joining the event can pay $35. There is also a non-competitive fun run or walk that people may enter for $35. Organizations can promote local events such as this by using printing services to make Banners, Flyers, and Posters for their activities.
