Newark gets new yogurt offering

A frozen yogurt shop that goes by the same of sweetFrog recently opened in Newark, making its early October deadline for opening.

The company has 356 locations in 29 states. The Newark store is located on Log Pond Drive, which seems ideal for a shop with a frog in its name. SweetFrog takes over the space once occupied by Goumas Confections, which relocated early last year to the Kroger Center.

Sam Kwon is the franchisee for the Newark store, and operates three additional shops in Pennsylvania. He says he will open another location in Zanesville soon.

A trip to the sweetFrog website shows that the company offers nonfat yogurt in 38 flavors, as well as 20 flavors with low fat, six supremes, 10 sorbets, 10 no-sugar-added flavors, and a variety of toppings—no fewer than 67 at last count.

SweetFrog also believes in reaching out to the communities it serves, and puts a great deal of emphasis on nurturing its relationship with its customers. The company's website says that sweetFrog believes in being a good neighbor, and engages with the community to that end.

SweetFrog could work with a banner printing company to create a banner, perhaps complete with a frog, to hang above the door to the new location. Banners are tough, durable and can be used repeatedly, even outdoors.
