Newark-area company hosts open house

Robertson Construction, which built the police and fire station in Newark, held an open house at the beginning of the month.

The company invited visitors to examine its new $1.3 million facility. The building, which comprises 9,500 square feet, includes offices, conference rooms, a fitness center, and a break room. In total, 32 employees work in the building out of a workforce of 122; the others are at various construction sites throughout the area.

Christian Robertson, the president of the company, noted that the construction industry can be very stressful, and said one reason for constructing the new building was to provide a positive workplace for employees. Those employed at the main site had been working out of trailers, or the fabrication shop, for approximately eight years.

Mark Johns, the mayor of Heath, where Robertson is located, praised the company for its projects in and around Heath and other locations, including Newark. He said the company has had a major, positive impact throughout the area. Among the projects Robertson has worked on are Xperion and Ariel, both in Heath, along with Hebron's Goodyear facility, the Horton Building (located on the campus of the Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center), and the Granville Inn.

Robertson Construction could work with a printing company to create custom Pens with its name, address, and logo on them. They would be an excellent promotional item to give away throughout the area.
