Construction recently started on a new building at Ohio State University-Newark.
The Central Ohio Technical College and the Ohio State University at Newark recently broke ground on a new science and technology building. The John and Mary Alford Center for Science and Technology is projected to cost $32 million, and will be shared by both institutions. The center will offer 60,000 square feet in three stories, and is the 11th building on the OSU-Newark campus the two schools share. Brochure printing can be used to illustrate the advantages of new facilities developed at institutions like this.
The new center should open in the spring of 2021, and will give students the opportunity to earn bachelor's degrees in engineering and science technology, according to the OSU-Newark dean/director, Bill McDonald. He added that the university has needed a new building for some time, since the school is out of space. The new center will not only meet present needs, but will remain adequate far into the future.
The building is packed with labs, classrooms, workrooms and offices. The main lobby will be on the first floor, as will a nuclear magnetic resonance lab, smart labs, and simulation labs of operating rooms, emergency rooms, ambulances, and more. Anthropology and geology/earth science will have space on the second floor, and chemistry labs, physics labs, student spaces, and faculty offices will be on the third.
