Kansas will bring their Point of Know Return Tour to the Midwest, giving long-time fans a chance to hear their favorite songs, and introducing new fans to the legendary group. At such events, poster printing gives fans a chance to take home a souvenir.
A “garage band,” Kansas formed in Topeka, and released “Kansas,” their debut album, in 1974. The lineup of the group before that point changed several times. However, with the release of the album, the band cemented their signature sound, a combination of complex arrangements with various time signatures, suitable for a symphony orchestra and boogie rock. The combination was possible because the group included not only the expected rock staples of drums, guitars, and bass, but also stringed instruments like the violin, viola, and cello that are less common in the genre.
The band has sold over 30 million albums including three—“Point of Know Return,” “Leftoverture,” and “Best of KANSAS”—that went sextuple platinum. The group hit the charts for over 200 weeks throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
A review of a concert says:
“All in all, it was a solid 2 ½ hour performance, that was so close to studio quality, it blew me away.”
Kansas will be at the Midland Theatre on June 19 at 7:30 pm.
