Farming convention to take place in Newark

The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) will organize a conference in February at the Cherry Valley Hotel in Newark.

The OEFFA Conference is an annual event where farmers and gardeners can meet with their peers and learn how to improve their farming skills. The theme for this year’s convention is Cultivating Care. The three-day conference will have several special activities, such as a live screening of the movie Digging In, a farmers’ market vendor fair, and an open microphone night. Those who attend events like this, such as merchants, can bring Promotional Products to hand out to consumers.

The conference guests can participate in workshops like Ecological Landscaping and Beyond, Farming with Draft Animals, and Year-Round Salad Production. The lectures are led by industry pros such as Tom Cail, Mike Hogan, and Christie Welch. People can also attend presentations from keynote storytellers like Walter Bonham and Sophia Buggs. Any children brought to the event can attend the Kids’ Conference while their parents attend workshops.

The farming convention will be from Thursday, February 15 to Saturday, February 17. Members of the OEFFA can pay $260 for general admission tickets, and non-members can purchase their tickets for $325. Students will receive a discount on their admission price. The cost of the Kids’ Conference is $30 per child. Lunches can be bought at the venue for $32.
