Country star coming to Newark

A multi-award-winning artist will be performing in Newark in October.

Josh Turner has been writing and performing songs since childhood. He released his debut album, ‘Long Black Train,’ in 2003 and saw it reach platinum status. In 2017, ‘Deep South’ went to number one on the Billboard charts. He has won an American Country Award for the single ‘Why Don't We Just Dance,’ a Dove Award for Song of the Year, ‘I Saw the Light,’ and an Inspirational Country Music Award as Mainstream Country Artist of the Year.

Turner is one of the youngest artists ever to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, and has sold over eight million units. His songs have been streamed worldwide over 1.5 billion times, and hits such as ‘Long Black Train,’ and ‘Hometown Girl’ are staples on the radio.

He also established the Josh Turner Scholarship Fund to support students hoping to pursue a career in music and the arts.

A reviewer of his show said:

“Josh Turner put on an excellent show. It is fulfilling to watch a performer that truly has fun sharing his songs with the audience. His band is excellent and tight. Josh has a very distinctive voice and it sounds every bit as good live as on record.”

Poster printing is often used to publicize performances such as this.

Turner will be at Newark's Midland Theatre on October 9 at 8pm. This is a rescheduled event, and original tickets will be honored.
