Country legend to give Newark performance

He has sold more than 11 million albums, made an indelible mark on country music, been an icon in Nashville for more than 20 years, and now he is coming to Newark.

Trace Adkins will appear at the Midland Theatre for one performance, which is a rescheduling of the concert. People who had tickets for the earlier date will have those tickets honored, and will not receive new tickets.

The Academy of Country Music has given Adkins three awards: “Top New Male Vocalist” in 1996; “Single of the Year” in 2009 for “You're Gonna Miss This”; and “Vocal Event of the Year” in 2010, for “Hillbilly Bone,” an EP he recorded with Blake Shelton. The CMT Music Award also went to “Hillbilly Bone,” and in 1996, Adkins won another CMT Award for “I Got My Game On,” which took the title Male Video of the Year. He's also received four Grammy nominations.

A review of Adkins at a recent concert says:

“A bucket list item to see Trace live and it was all I hoped!! . . . Trace was personable, relaxed, and sounded wonderful!!!”
