Beginning tomorrow and continuing for an undisclosed amount of time West Columbus residents making the approximately 12-mile drive to the John Glenn International Airport will encounter a variety of traffic flow changes.
Among the temporary changes will be how those going to the airport will be entering and departing the terminal, parking garage and cell phone waiting area.

More specifically, drivers on International Gateway heading to the terminal will be rerouted to the newly constructed roadway to the front of the terminal’s construction site. This approach will be permanent.
The cell phone lot between the rental car area and the “John Glenn Columbus” sign will no longer be used; however, Lane Aviation cell phone lot will still be available for those picking up arriving passengers.
Other changes to be aware of will be detours for those leaving the terminal and the parking garage. These well-marked detours will show the way for those seeking Sawyer Road and westbound International Gateway. Detours Signs will enable drivers to access the airport via I-270/I-670, while Hamilton Road’s traffic will be limited as a result of the road work on Sawyer Road.
One welcoming bit of news is that the grace period for the Green Lot remains, permitting drivers a one-hour period for those picking up passengers.
