West Columbus theater to host Celtic fiddlers

The Southern Theatre in West Columbus will bring the Celtic sounds of Canadian fiddlers Natalie MacMaster, her husband Donnell Leahy, and two of their children in spring next year.

Married in 2000, MacMaster and Leahy built a busy life together that includes giving 75 performances per year, while bringing up seven children with musical talents, operating their own farm and developing a farmers’ market in Ontario. As their youngest children have reached their teens, the couples have decided to refresh their commitment to performing live throughout North America.

Music venues and other event centers benefit from collaboration with poster printing services.

MacMaster, who became an Order of Canada inductee 20 years ago, has been the recipient of a couple of JUNO Awards, three Gold Albums, and only one short of 20 East Coast Music Awards. Leahy has garnered three JUNO Awards and has reached the Double-Platinum level of album sales.

The couple has performed over 1,000 sold out shows throughout North America with artists such as Michael McDonald, Nickelback, Allison Krauss, and Yo-Yo Ma. Moreover, the pair has collaborated with the likes of Faith Hill, Béla Fleck, Don Henley, Carlos Santana, and The Chieftains.

The West Columbus performance will take place at 8:00 pm on Friday, April 23, 2027, and will include the couple’s oldest two children Micheal and Mary Frances Leahy. The performance will be hosted by CAPA and tickets are available at the CAPA Ticket Center.
