West Columbus attends COSI Science Festival

Many here in West Columbus will be attending events in the COSI Science Festival coming at the end of April.

The four-day festival will be a plethora of STEM activities, nature walks, science nights, and trivia events taking place in Columbus neighborhood community centers, and libraries such as our Hilltop Branch Library, Westgate Community Center and Westgate Park.

Some types of events will include Be a Scientist where guests may talk with real NASA astronauts, test drive soap box derby cars, bake bagels, or build rockets. An Adult Science Series will feature activities such as Landscaping 101, an egg drop challenge and rebuilding local food systems. Creative Sparks will have a Secret Life of Sculpture interactive workshop, Lava Lamp in a bottle construction and Making Casein Plastic.

A Big Science Celebration at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) will feature over 100 exhibitor stations run by STEAM professionals, experts, and researchers giving live science performances and shows on chemistry engineering and physics. Regional STEAM organizations will be onsite showcasing the latest technology and real-world science. This will be an outdoor event and admission will be free.

Local Print shops that do poster printing and flyer printing are often busy right before big science events like this.

COSI Science Festival will take place from April 29 through May 2nd. The COSI Big Science Celebration will take place May 2nd from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on the Scioto Peninsula around the COSI, 333 W Broad Street, Columbus.
