White Plains nonprofit to host awards celebration

The autism nonprofit Yes She Can is hosting a leadership awards ceremony in White Plains this spring.

The Voices in Autism Leadership Awards will include speeches and award presentations, as well as time for socializing. Morgan Stanley Executive Director Hillary Mercer and coach and Yes She Can board member Debra Solomon will be receiving awards. Yes She Can is introducing two new awards, the Volunteer Service Award and the Community Service Award. Four Yes She Can volunteers who help with the work training program will receive the Volunteer Service Award, and another volunteer, Jordan Keller, will receive the Community Service Award.

Tickets, sponsorships and electronic ads are all available for purchase on Yes She Can’s website. General admission costs $150 per person. Sponsorship packages, which include admission tickets, start at $500, and ads range from $300 to $800 depending on the size. Companies often use graphic design experts to create ads for this type of event.

Yes She Can runs an American Girl doll resale shop that it uses to provide business and social skills training for teen girls and young women with autism. This allows them to practice and develop these skills in a safe and supportive environment.

The Voices in Autism Leadership Awards will take place on Thursday, May 1 from 6 pm to 9 pm at The Mansion on Broadway, White Plains.
