The City of White Plains, ArtsWestchester, and the White Plains BID are partnering to host their 15th annual JazzFest this September.
The five-day festival will feature 19 jazz performances in various locations in White Plains. It kicks off with two free noon performances on Wednesday. These will feature pianist and composer Micah Thomas at Downtown Music at Grace, and Matthias Schmidt Quartet at White Plains Farmers Market. The rest of JazzFest includes a mix of free and paid events.
Ticketed events will be in the evenings at ArtsWestchester. Thursday's show will be Improvise: A Night of Jazz and Art, a collaborative jazz and poetry experience. Tickets are $25 and include one alcoholic or nonalcoholic drink. Early bird pricing is $20 and is available through September 1. Ben Wendel Group is performing two shows on Friday, and John Patitucci Trio is performing on Saturday. Both groups will offer a 7:00 pm and a 9:00 pm show. General admission tickets are $40 per show or $300 for a premium table for four.
The festival will conclude on Sunday afternoon and evening with Jazz Alfresco, a series of free outdoor performances on Mamaroneck Avenue. Tickets and the full schedule are available on ArtsWestchester’s website. Organizations often use poster printing services to promote this type of community event.
JazzFest White Plains will be from Wednesday, September 23 to Sunday, September 27.
