Jazz festival to return to White Plains
White Plains is hosting a five-day jazz festival this September.
JazzFest White Plains will feature 18 live performances, which are a mix of free and ticketed events. The musicians include seven Grammy nominees as well as up-and-coming artists. The festival starts on Wednesday with two free afternoon performances and an evening dinner event. The Wycliffe Gordon Quintet will perform outdoors on White Plains Plaza, and Via Garibaldi will provide a three-course buffet dinner. Tickets are $75 per person.
The festival will end with Sunday Jazz Alfresco, which is a free set of outdoor performances on Mamaroneck Avenue from 12:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Large tents will be set up to allow the event to go on rain or shine. Those planning to attend can reserve their free tickets through Eventbrite. The area is a short walk from the train station.
