White Plains Public Library is continuing its summer Neighborhood Nights at the Library event series this August.
The library is hosting a variety of activities on Thursday evenings throughout the summer. The August lineup includes a magic show, a science-themed comedy performance, a storytelling session and a multi-genre concert. The Great Charlini is an experienced magician who promises an engaging show with many opportunities for audience participation. Comic mime Robert Rivest is performing his Science in Motion show, which uses humor to help audiences see science in a different light and learn how it applies to everyday life. Rachael Harrington is a professional storyteller who specializes in presenting fairytales and folktales in an interactive format. She aims to use those stories to help audiences find the joy in connecting with others. For the final night of the series, several local bands will perform a range of styles “from Bach to rock.”
Neighborhood Nights are free to attend and do not require registration. The White Plains Library Foundation, the library’s nonprofit fundraising group, is supporting the event series. Libraries often use poster printing services to promote their special events. The library is accessible for guests with disabilities.
Neighborhood Nights at White Plains Public Library will take place on August 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
