Reports of an eminent sale have resulted in the air and water filtration equipment maker Pall Corp. enjoying a spike in share prices.
The company – headquartered in Port Washington, New York – experienced its biggest trade day since March of 2003 on May 12, when its stock reached $117.60 and an increase of 18 per cent. Earlier in the day, it was up 21 percent. At the close of day on Monday, May 11, Pall, had a $10.6 billion market value.
The company had experienced a year-to-date drop that the uptick on May 12 partially erased. Pall Corp. is estimated with market capital of nearly $12.5 billion. With both Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. and Danaher Corp. in pursuit of Pall, The Wall Street Journal estimated the company to sell for $13 billion or more.
According to the Journal, final bids are expected to be in by the end of the working week, (May 15), after which the work of Print companies will really ramp up with new Stationery and business card printing services required.
It will be natural to assume that the stock will continue to be volatile up to and even a little after a sale takes place.
One Bloomberg Intelligence analyst, Joel Levington, postulates that if Pall is sold to Danaher, that company might ditch Pall’s energy, aerospace and microelectronic units, as they would be of little value to Danaher.Get a Free Quote for Stationery Get a Free Quote for Print
