Port Washington festival to highlight Italian culture

The John Michael Marino Lodge will be hosting its annual Italian Festival in Port Washington this year, with the goal of highlighting Mediterranean culture and bringing the community together.

This will be the 44th edition of the culture, which is known for its assortment of food and culture. The festival will feature a few spread of Italian dishes, including pasta such as ziti, meatball heroes, and eggplant parmesan. Other vendors will be offering Italian sausages, pizza, pastry items like cannoli and zeppole, and Italian-style coffee.

Live on-stage entertainment will be a feature across the weekend, beginning with live karaoke and mozzarella making on Thursday night. Musical performers include Decadia, Any Way You Want It, and Carmelo Raccuglia. Saturday night will also see a fireworks display light up the night sky. The final day of the festival will feature a display of Italian sports cars.

The Italian Festival was created as a fundraiser for the Lodge’s charitable efforts, which have provided scholarships to over 400 local students. The organization also contributes to local nonprofit organizations like the Port Washington Ambulance Fund and Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society. Groups like this often use methods like poster printing and speeches to help outline their contributions to the community.

The 2025 John Michael Marino Lodge Italian Festival will take place from September 4 to 7 at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington.
