The Port Washington Chamber of Commerce will be “going soup mode” with its “SOUPer Bowl” event this February, highlighting local cuisine in time for the big game.
The occasion will feature a dozen local restaurants and suppliers each offering their own take on the hearty soup. Participating businesses include Ayhan’s Mediterranean Marketplace, Port Washington Diner, and The Wild Goose. Diners can sample each soup, with bread and cracker accompaniment, and bet on their favourites. The most popular soup will receive the People’s Choice Award.
There will also be a Kids’ Choice Award, tallying the votes of children 12 and under. The SOUPer Bowl will also act as a fundraiser for local food pantries, with the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce collecting non-perishable food items to go towards local families in need.
This will be the 19th edition of the SOUPer Bowl event, which the Chamber of Commerce hosts as part of its Try Port First initiative. Participating restaurants can also be featured on the Try Port First mobile app, with information like location and hours. Events like this often use banner printing and presentations to help feature local businesses and sponsors.
The 2026 SOUPer Bowl will take place at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Port Washington on the afternoon of Saturday, February 7, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. All admission sales will take place at the door.
