The North Shore Animal League America organization will be holding a pair of events this October in celebration of 10 years of helping pets and owners.
The organization will be holding the 10th anniversary edition of its Walk to Rescue event. Participants will walk a set distance while raising money for the organization. Participants are encouraged to become part of a team, with fundraising rewards for the top individual and team donors. The walk will conclude at a special “Paw Plaza” area with local vendors such as Dan’s Pet Care and Pop Up Bagels Roslyn.
Prior to Walk to Rescue, the League will hold Adopt-A-Fest, with half-off adoption fees for dogs and cats. There will be food and family activities, and a chance for visitors to interact with animals before making the decision to adopt.
The savings will continue into the Catober event the following weekend, with half-price adoption fees on all cats and kittens. Animal societies and other community groups often use special events as well as Promotional Products like Calendars to help raise funds for their missions.
The 2026 Adopt-A-Fest will take place on October 3 and 4 at the North Shore Animal League America building in Port Washington, with Catober following from October 9 to 11. The Walk to Rescue event will be on the morning of October 17 at the Town of North Hempstead Beach Park.
