Night in White returns to Port Washington

The Nicholas Center will hold its annual Night in White gala in Port Washington this July as it looks to raise money to support individuals with autism and their families.

This year’s event will pay tribute to honorees Michelle & Desmond Rea and their son DJ Steph. The evening will kick off with a VIP cocktail reception, followed by a full dinner. Visitors can hit the dance floor following dinner. Attendees are asked to wear white, semi-formal attire to live up to the “Night in White” name.

The gala fundraiser will also include a raffle and silent auctions, with prizes donated from the local community. Businesses and community organizations can also contribute in the form of sponsorships, with sponsorships available for everything from the flowers to dessert. Fundraising events like this often use methods like banner printing and special activities to highlight sponsors’ contributions.

Funds raised through the event will support the Nicholas Center’s mission to provide programs and services that allow autistic adults to find employment and involvement in the community. The group says:

“We focus on an individualized approach – meeting the person where they are – abilities, needs for support, interests and goals — we create opportunities for community engagement, vocational training and job support and peer connections.”

The 2026 edition of the Night in White gala will take place at North Hempstead Country Club on July 23.
