Summer live music events help local businesses

The Farmingdale Village Merchants Association has organized free concerts this summer called Live at Five on Main.

The event sponsors including Bethpage Federal Credit Union, St. Joseph Hospital, Joe Fortuna, owner of the Nutty Irishman and the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, were excited to work together to bring this event to downtown Farmingdale. The event was created to bring the community together and promote growth to the economy. Local businesses likely prepared for the event by contacting a local Print company to prepare Brochures and Posters to attract attendees to their establishments.

Vendors are able to rent booth space at the event along with the downtown merchants to promote their goods, services, arts, crafts, and food items. Attendees are treated to a night of music and fun under the stars and an opportunity to meet up with family, friends and neighbors for an evening out.

The bands play from 5:30-8:30pm and the lineup for the final event includes Peat Moss and Electric Dudes, playing on Main St. South of Conklin, and Electric 10, playing on Main St. North of Conklin.

The fourth and final concert will be held on Thursday, August 25th along Main and Prospect Streets. The streets will be closed to traffic during the event which is held from 4:00-10:00pm. There is no cost to attend the event.
