The Canton of Lions End is hosting the sixth annual Farmingdale Medieval History Day at the same time as the Farmingdale Fire Department Street Fair this June.
The free event will have activities for all ages. Members of the Canton of Lions End, Farmingdale’s Social for Creative Anachronism group, will wear period clothing from different centuries and demonstrate crafts, fighting techniques, and other skills. Attendees will also be able to make their own family-friendly crafts and participate in other hands-on activities.
The annual Farmingdale Fire Department Spring Street Fair will be taking place along Main Street at approximately the same time. Running from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, it will feature a variety of vendors, including crafters, service providers, and retailers. Businesses interested in participating can apply online. Towns often use poster printing services to promote their community events.
The Fire Department will have an open house from noon to 3:00 pm. It will also have a table at the Street Fair featuring Firefighter Charlie, who will be available to take pictures with kids and provide information about the department’s junior program for kids ages 2 to 14.
Farmingdale Medieval History Day will be on Saturday, June 6 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, on the Village Green. The rain date is the following Saturday, June 13.
