St. Patricks Day Parade to return to downtown Farmingdale

Farmingdale is hosting its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Main Street this March.

The parade will depart from Northside School at 2:00 pm and travel south along Main Street to the endpoint on the Village Green. Spectators are invited to watch the parade from anywhere on the route. Attendees are encouraged to spend time downtown before and after the parade, especially by having lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants in Farmingdale’s Culinary Quarter Mile. Main Street will be closed during the parade, so attendees should plan their travel routes accordingly.

Any groups, clubs, nonprofits or other organizations interested in participating in the parade should contact Joe Fortuna to sign up. Individuals are also welcome to participate. All floats and marchers should meet at Northside School at 1:30 pm. Groups often use banner printing services to display their names while marching in community parades.

The Farmingdale Business Improvement District and Farmingdale Village are sponsoring the parade. Joe Fortuna, the owner of the local Irish pub and music venue The Nutty Irishman, is heavily involved in planning and running the event. The Farmingdale Fire Department, Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, and several sponsors are also supporting the parade.

The Farmingdale St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Sunday, March 15 from 2:00 pm to about 2:45 pm.
