Plans released for Farmingdale St. Patrick's Day parade

The 7th annual town parade for St. Patrick’s Day will take place the week prior to the holiday in 2019.

Crowds should plan to line Main Street for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. The marchers will assemble and begin their walk at Northside school. The parade route will follow Main Street and end at the Village Green.

Local merchants will take part in the festivities, with many restaurants and shops sponsoring the parade, as well as offering Promotional Products and special deals throughout the day of the event. A shamrock photo op station, as well as a variety of family-friendly activities, will take place at the Village Green after the parade completes its route.

The Grand Marshals for the 2019 St. Patrick’s Day parade will be Deputy Mayor William Barrett and Margaret Barrett.

Any groups or businesses that would like to march in the parade or sponsor the event can contact Joe Fortuna for more information, by sending an email to Joef@thenuttyirishman.com. The lineup for the parade begins at 12:30 pm next Sunday, March 10 at the Northside Elementary School at 55 Powell Place in Farmingdale.

The parade begins at 1:00 pm and is expected to last until 3:00 pm. There is no rain date, which means the parade will take place regardless of the weather.
