Outdoor art show to return to Farmingdale
The Village of Farmingdale is now accepting artist applications for the 15th annual Art in the Park event.
The Village of Farmingdale’s Cultural Arts Committee is sponsoring the art fair. The outdoor show will feature art pieces using a variety of media for display and sale. Kids in fifth grade or younger are invited to participate by bringing their own 8.5- by 11-inch drawings. These will be displayed on a clothesline, and participants will receive a sticker. Event organizers often use printing services to create custom stickers. Ribbons will be awarded for the best pieces overall. The show will be rescheduled in case of rain. Those planning to attend should check the Village website for updates.
The show is free for artists to enter, but they need to apply by September 8 to reserve their spot. Artwork can be watercolor, acrylic or oil paintings, mixed media, pastels, drawings, sculptures and photography. Artists should be 16 or older and need to provide their own supplies like easels, tables and tents. They should also plan to be at their booths during the entire show. The application form is available on the Farmingdale Village website.
Art in the Park will take place on Sunday, September 14, from 11 am to 3 pm on Farmingdale’s Village Green. The rain date will be the following Sunday, September 21.
