Nature center to bring birds of prey to Farmingdale

The Sweetbriar Nature Center will hold a live presentation at the Farmingdale Public Library in August.

Those who want to learn about birds of prey can attend a family-friendly presentation offered by the Sweetbriar Nature Center. Attendees will get to meet with several kinds of birds, including a falcon and owls. Guests are required to register with a child’s library card, and all children must have an adult accompany them to the event.

The Sweetbriar Nature Center is a nonprofit corporation that teaches the community about local wildlife and offers rehabilitation services for several types of animals. The facility can help sick, injured, and orphaned creatures like turtles, eagles, squirrels, and rabbits. People may pay to sponsor animals at the center to help support their recovery.

There are several educational attractions at the nature center that families can visit, including the Butterfly Vivarium, the Reptile Room, and the Woodland Turtle Area. Many kid-friendly activities can be found at the venue’s Discovery Area, like a slide and sandbox. Guests may also explore the center’s garden.

The birds of prey presentation will be on Monday, August 5th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Registration for the activity will open on July 22nd. Nonprofits that host live shows at local libraries such as this may use poster printing services to raise interest in their events.
