Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE) operates a retail store located in Farmingdale, and recently enlisted the help of the local community to film a commercial at the Farmingdale High School.
FREE was founded in 1977 and supports a few thousand individuals with varying intellectual disabilities. It offers support in a variety of areas, which include housing, recovery services, transition back to work, family services, crisis services, and primary and specialty healthcare.
The retail shop, named Fancy Free, is shop that provides employment for some of those who rely on FREE services. The shop sells a variety of items, but is most generally known as a gift shop that sells unique goods including handcrafted items. Some of these are seasonal in nature, while others are suitable gifts all year round.
The commercial was filmed with locals and featured the Farmingdale High School cheerleaders, known as the ‘Dalerettes’, performing to FREE’s ‘Fancy Free Jingle’.
