Golfing event to tee off soon

Collier Youth Services will be holding its 22nd Annual Collier Golf Classic in a couple of weeks. The event will be a fundraiser for the organization’s programs, such as its special education and recreational offerings for disadvantaged kids.

The event will be a round of golf that will include course contests, including a hole-in-one contest that will get the winner a new car sponsored by Leslie Glen Chevrolet and Freehold Dodge Subaru. The putting contest, meanwhile, has a $10,000 prize.

Registration will include lunch, admission to the practice range, a golf cart, locker, refreshments on the course, and one mulligan. It will also include cocktails and dinner.

A 50/50 raffle will have three winners who will share half the profits made on tickets sold. The split will be 25%, 15%, and 10%.

A barbeque lunch will kick things off before the shotgun start takes place. Cocktails at the close of the golfing will usher in the buffet dinner. A silent auction will be going on through the evening.

Although this is primarily a fundraising event, golfers here in Manalapan may want to bring their digital Business Cards to do a little networking if the chance should arise.

The event is scheduled for Monday, September 19 at the Eagles Oaks Golf and Country Club, 20 Fair Oaks Drive, Farmingdale. Registration will begin at 9:00 am.
