Farmingdale to raise funds for scholarship

Next month, the Hispanic Support Organization and the Society of Hispanic Engineers will be holding their annual Golf Outing and Scholarship fundraiser at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, New York.

The Golf Outing and Scholarship fundraiser has been an ongoing event for 17 years, helping raise money to go towards high school seniors and college freshmen in the states of New York and New Jersey. There has been over $255,000 in scholarships given to 88 worthy Hispanic students by the organizations. This year, the goal is to give at least three students $2,500.

Both golfing professionals and casuals are welcome to participate in the Golf Outing event. Tickets to the fundraiser include a full day of golfing and networking opportunities, in addition to an open bar, raffles, and cart rentals. Meals will be provided during the event. Golfers can win prizes if they get a hole in one while they play. Fundraising events such as the Golf Outing can use banner printing to create decorations displaying names and logos of sponsoring organizations.

The Golf Outing and Scholarship fundraiser will be held on August 21. Participants can check in at 11:00 am. Anybody interested in the event can purchase a single ticket for $400, or can buy a package for four at $1,500 instead. Additional donations will also be accepted on the event website. Sponsorship opportunities are available for companies starting at $250.
