The Farmingdale Public Library will be kicking off its 2021 Summer Reading Club with a live performance in June from Petra Puppets.
Too Many Tails is an entertaining presentation from Petra Puppets, where families can go on a fantasy adventure with ventriloquist Steve Petra and Eric the Sheep. The show will occur outdoors at the library. All groups are asked to bring a blanket and to wear a face mask during Petra’s performance. Only two adults per family may attend. Venues hosting programs such as this can make ads to market the event by using printing services.
Steve Petra is a professional puppeteer who trained at the National Theatre of Puppet Arts. His performances keep students engaged by using humor, music, and illusions. Petra has several educational shows, including Reading Rampage, Monthly Math Mania, and Science It’s Alive. He also offers a ventriloquism workshop over Zoom that covers topics like mouth and tongue placement, sound substitutions, and the ventriloquist’s alphabet.
The show will be held on June 28 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. There will be a second performance offered from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Online registration is mandatory and will open on June 14 at 9:00 am. All attendees must fill out a form to attend the program. Those interested in lectures offered by Petra can find his workshops for sale on his website.
