Farmingdale teachers organization to debut new event

The Farmingdale Federation of Teachers will be organizing a new event in December at 317 Main Street.

The Farmingdale Federation of Teachers Night Out is an activity where members of the organization can enjoy an evening of food and cocktail samples with their family, friends, and peers. The program includes a cooking demonstration from the venue’s chef Eric LeVine. The menu will consist of many dishes, such as halibut ceviche with avocado, curried cauliflower with almonds, and stuffed piquillo peppers. Guests will receive four cocktail sips during the event. The night out will also have a raffle and door prizes.

Formed in 1957, the Farmingdale Federation of Teachers is an organization set up to support instructors and address problems with the profession. The group also works to help teachers earn adequate salaries. The current president of the federation is Cordelia Anthony, and the first vice president is Brian Reilly. The organization participates in events such as the Education Appreciation Night and the Autism Speaks Walk.

The first night out for teachers will be held on Monday, December 5 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tickets to the event will cost attendees $82.03. Only people who are 21 or older can participate in the federation’s event. Organizations that put together seasonal gatherings such as this may use flyer printing to spread awareness for their events.
