Farmingdale tasting event to fight childhood cancer

Next month, 317 Main Street in Farmingdale will be organizing a charity tasting event where two chefs will showcase their skills.

The Taste of TV is a culinary experience where people can try dishes made by a pair of cooks who have appeared on television. Eric Levine and Robbie Jester have been featured on several shows, including Beat Bobby Flay, Chopped Champions, The Pressure Cooker, and Sushi Master. Many dishes will be served at the event, like braised pork belly, poached mussels, and grilled scallops. The event will start with a cocktail hour.

The organization benefiting from the event is the Olivia Hope Foundation, which is a group that fights against childhood cancer by funding research to find targeted therapies. The foundation also uses its funding to improve the lives of the kids and families impacted by childhood cancer. Some of the programs offered by the organization include the Olivia Hope Heroes and Liv’s Sibs. Shelley LoRusso is the founder and president of the group.

The tasting experience will be on Monday, May 8 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Tickets to the event will cost guests $150. Those interested in getting involved with the Olivia Hope Foundation can donate online.
