This April, Farmingdale State College in New York will be celebrating their 100th commencement by hosting a 5K run/walk race.
Farmingdale State College invites the community to join in its 100th commencement celebration by participating this on-the-move event. There will be raffles and food available at the event that guests can purchase. All proceeds gained from registrations and purchases during the race will go towards supporting scholarships for students attending Farmingdale State College. Additional festivities will take place once the race is finished.
Terry Bisogno, also known as the Voice of Long Island, will be providing professional commentary during the event. The race is going to use the college campus for the track, taking place on The Great Lawn near the Nold Hall Athletic Complex. Awards will be given to runners who finish within the top three male and female positions of their age bracket. Participants in the race will have access to refreshments once finished.
The Farmingdale State College Centennial Commencement Ramrun 5k Run/Walk will be held on April 14th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Fees to enter the event will cost $25 until April 13. Those who come the same day as the race will pay $35 instead. The first 200 people to register for the event will receive custom T-Shirts with graphic design related to the commencement.
