Farmingdale residents to compete in gingerbread and chocolate competition

The Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale is inviting the community to participate in a gingerbread and chocolate competition next month.

The Long Island Gingerbread & Chocolate House Competition is an event where people compete to construct the best-looking creation. This year, the theme for the contest will be Victorian. Those who are selected as winners will be given prizes. Guests who are not competing can still visit the store to see the submitted creations. LI Cares will be accepting donations during the event to help feed people living in Long Island.

The Chocolate Duck is a locally owned store that has been operating for over 30 years. The business hosts several classes for guests to attend, teaching topics such as how to decorate cakes, mold chocolate, and work with fondant. The Chocolate Duck also features other holiday-themed events, like its grumpy pumpkin decorating course. Companies that host classes like this can use poster printing to place their ads on local bulletin boards in their community.

The Long Island Gingerbread & Chocolate House Competition will be held on December 14 from noon to 4:00 pm. Attendees can help LI Cares by bringing nonperishable goods to the event and gift cards. Those who are interested in attending courses offered at the Chocolate Duck can check the company’s website for a list of upcoming classes.
