Farmingdale presentation to discuss home exteriors

Those interested in learning more about their homes can attend a seminar offered at the Farmingdale Public Library.

Your Home’s Exterior is a lesson for homeowners that stresses the importance of monitoring the condition of a house’s outside walls. The instructor for the class is Brian Schnee, the owner of KL Home Inspection Services. Topics will include how to properly install a home’s foundation, Signs of weathering roofs, and how to differentiate between load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls. People will also learn about the problems caused by termites.

Brian Schnee is a licensed home inspector who has been a part of the commercial construction industry for more than 20 years. He is also licensed as a mold assessor and thermographer. Schnee is part of the Long Island Chapter of the American Society of Home Inspectors and teaches with Nassau Community College Continuing Education. He offers eight different types of workshops that can help attendees reduce their repair costs and become familiar with the systems of their homes.

The presentation will be on Tuesday, August 29 at 7:00 pm. There is no ticket price for Schnee’s course. Registration for the program will open to library patrons on August 15. Inspectors who offer public lectures such as this may bring Business Cards to their classes to provide their phone numbers and website links to students.
