A gym in Farmingdale will be hosting its first summer competition in July.
The Summer Showdown Squat Championships is an unsanctioned event where athletes can compete individually or in a tag team. All lifts will be done raw, and competitors are allowed to wear knee sleeves or knee wraps. Solo divisions will be separated by gender, while teams can be the same gender or mixed. The maximum number of participants for the contest will be 10 teams or 20 full lifters. Team awards are given to the duos with the highest combined totals.
Gaglione Strength is a strength training and powerlifting gym founded in 2011 by John Gaglione. The facility specializes in group training athletes, and it also helps adults drop body fat while building lean muscle. The gym’s programs can be adjusted to meet any ability level.
Those who do not live in Long Island can still receive training from the venue through virtual coaching sessions. Fitness facilities such as this can use brochure printing to provide people with information about their programs.
The Summer Showdown Squat Championships will be held on Sunday, July 4th from 10:30am to 4:00pm. Teams can register for $195. Payments made online will be charged a $5 processing fee. Contestants must attend a weigh-in on Saturday, June 27th from 10:30am to 11:00am. People who register after June 1st will need to pay a $15 late fee.
