The award-winning Long Island International Film Expo returns to the area for its 21st annual event.
Celebrities who have attended this multi-day event previously include Oleg Cassini, Steve Buscemi, and William Sadler. The event includes a party on opening night for special ticket holders, many panels, and announcements for the winning films for each category. An awards ceremony and closing party wrap up the expo.
Film fans can purchase tickets to attend a single block of film screenings, or for admittance for all the events on a given day. Panel discussions are free to attend for all ticket holders. Some of the topics at the panels will be scriptwriting, a director’s audition panel, and a filmmaker panel.
The ticket prices vary depending on the day and event chosen, and there are discounts for seniors and children. Audience members can vote for their favorite films and attend the awards ceremony to see if their choice wins. Tickets for the awards ceremony only are $25 each and $55-$65 each for the ceremony and Closing Night Party.
The submission process has closed for this event, but will reopen in October for the 2019 Long Island International Film Expo. Interested Farmingdale filmmakers, writers or others that want to network with people in the industry and learn more about their trade should bring their Business Cards, view a panel, and see the work chosen for award consideration.
The film expo takes place from July 13 to 19 at the Bellmore Movies and The Showplace located at 222 Pettit Avenue in Bellmore. Visit the LIFE website for tickets and times and dates for each event.
