Locals can join young entrepreneurs on Small Business Saturday for the chance to holiday shop from local businesses.
The Unicorn Network is a group of millennial entrepreneurs who work together to address the concerns of young professionals in the Farmingdale area. To help support local businesses the group has organized its first annual Holiday Gift Fair. Gift and food vendors, artists, and others with products to sell often do some poster printing and set up a booth at events.
The gift fair will include music, food, and a variety of vendors offering unique gift ideas. Small Business Saturday is a part of the Shop Small Movement. It is an annual campaign meant to encourage people to visit local shops and individually-owned businesses on the Saturday after Black Friday. The effort hopes to direct more business to local retailers during the holiday season.
The Holiday Gift Fair is November 24 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Novak Motors, located at 215 Daniel Street in Farmingdale. Attendees can RSVP at the Eventbrite website. Registration is free, and it helps the group to plan for the size of the crowd to expect.
Anyone that would like to participate as a vendor can contact Lindsay and Danielle through email at TheUnicornNetworkLLC@gmail.com. Visit the Unicorn Network on Facebook to learn more about the organization.
