The Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum in Farmingdale will be organizing an educational event for families in May.
The Beneficial Garden Friend: Praying Mantis Casing Event is a child-friendly activity where kids will learn how beneficial a praying mantis can be in a garden. Participants will be shown live baby praying mantises and discover the process when their egg casing hatches. Guests can help the Pinelawn staff spread egg casings around one of the venue’s gardens and ask questions to the employees on why they use praying mantises on the property.
The Pinelawn Memorial Park And Arboretum is a scenic facility that maintains an environment where people can find peace. The venue was awarded a Level II Accredited Arboretum from the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and Morton Register of Arboreta. One project created by the facility is the Honey Bee Hive Program, which started in 2017 and has grown to care for more than 200,000 bees. Organizations in charge of programs like this can utilize brochure printing to inform consumers about the group’s work.
The casing event will take place on Sunday, May 1 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Registration for the experience will open to people on April 1. There is no cost to attend the arboretum’s activity, though all guests must register. The presentation will be held at Louis Natalie Mall.
