Country band to perform at Farmingdale library

The Farmingdale Public Library will invite a notable country group to perform in May for its Distinguished Artists program.

Fans of country music can attend a performance by Gene Casey & The Lone Sharks. The group performs songs in the rockabilly genre and is compared to singers like Johnny Cash. The band was added to Dan's Papers Best of the Best Hall of Fame in 2014 and earned the People of the Year title from Northforker.com in 2016. The performers play at many notable venues, including Liam's Landing in Amityville and The Clubhouse in East Hampton.

Gene Casey, the founder of the group, also performs as a solo artist and released several original songs, such as I've Not Forgiven You, Keep Me on Your Mind, and Guitar in the Rain. His music has also been featured in movies like The Tall Man, The Killing Season, and Being Charlie. People can watch Casey perform without The Lone Sharks at venues such as North Shore Public Library, Little Fish, and Billy's By The Bay.

The Distinguished Artists program will be held on Sunday, May 5th and will begin at 2:30 pm. Guests will not need to pay an admission fee to see Gene Casey & The Lone Sharks perform, and registration is also not necessary. Bands that hold shows at community buildings like this may use banner printing to advertise their concerts to consumers.
