Bellerose youngsters who enjoy animals can look forward to a program with opportunities for furry fun.
An initiative that teaches the basics of animal care will be offered at the Alley Pond Environmental Center, and it will be a drop-off activity for young people from ages 8 to 10. The registration fee is $34 per person.
Registrants in the Animal Care Trainee program will be taught the responsibilities that go hand in hand with being an animal caretaker. They will learn about the venue’s animal ambassadors and what they need to be healthy and happy, which will include hands-on learning. They will be able to feed, brush, and clean them, and the basics of choosing which companion animal is the best fit for a particular family and its lifestyle is also on the agenda.
Kids often love working with animals, and being part of a workshop or other event that provides chances for hands-on interaction may attract attention. Certificates of completion and other custom items to present the attendees in an activity can be ordered from area Print shops, which will have Stationery printing options at a variety of price points.
The Alley Pond Environmental Center has scheduled its Animal Care Trainee experience for Monday, September 21. It will start at 10:00 am, and pickup time will be 12:00 pm.
