Bellerose kids offered introduction to arachnids

A Bellerose area venue that offers experiential, hands-on learning for young and old alike has an activity in the works that will give arachnids time in the spotlight.

Queen County Farm Museum’s Bug Buddies classes make learning fun for kids, and they are on offer once each month. May’s instalment will be offering sneak peek into the lives of their eight legged friends, and tickets are $12.00 each.

The kids that participate will learn about arachnids, which includes , spiders, scorpions, pseudoscorpions, ticks, whip scorpions and more. They will find out which items call the local area home, and they will take part in a hunt for them out in the field. They will find out what makes this group of creatures special, and how they help to keep pests under control. The activity will be held in the venue’s Education Building, and it will run for one hour and fifteen minutes.

Kids are often fascinated by the creatures that inhibit the world around them, and an organized activity allows them to do so. Printed materials such as nature Journals, activity sheets, promotional Pens and other items can all be supplied by area printing services companies.

This introduction of the creatures that make up the arachnid group or arthropods is scheduled for May 10th. Tickets can be purchased through the Museum’s website, which provides a list of the other instalments in the series.
