In the days before modern technology, many socialized at taverns and other gathering spots, and a series of Bellerose area activities will recreate this experience.
The Queens County Farm Museum offers various ways to learn about the area's past, and its 18th Century Tavern Nights will be immersive experiences for all who take part. They are limited to those age 14 and up, and anyone who is under 21 will need to attend with an adult.
The menu for the occasions will open with freshly baked bread as well as butter and pickles. This will be followed by pumpkin soup and the main course of chicken, beef cabbage, apple and corn relish. Dessert will feature a cinnamon flop with whipped cream. Anyone who would like to purchase cider, beer, wine or a themed cocktail can do so, and dates are scheduled from November through January. The January schedule will be released to the public as it draws closer.
