Bellerose celebrates Earth Day

Bellerose residents will be offering spring a warm welcome when it turns out for a day dedicated to environmental service scheduled for an area venue.

Queens County Farm will be marking Earth Day by offering a sneak peek into the past, present and future of agriculture. It’s organized an afternoon of fun with an environmental focus, and while they enjoy the festivities, everyone can learn more about the venue and how to get involved.

The planners have invited everyone help maximize the impact of the occasion by participating in a farm wide cleanup, and brush removal and trail and path maintenance projects will also be undertaken. A book swap and eco-scavenger hunt are on the agenda. The participants can hop aboard for a tractor drawn hayride, and everyone will go home with some free Promotional Products and other giveaway items. Food trucks will be parked on site near its picnic tables, and free parking will be on offer as well. RVPS have been requested.

Spring can be a time for starting a volunteer environmental service activity such as stream cleaning, litter collection and brush removal to help prevent first fires. Stationery printers will be pleased to supply customized registration Forms, waivers and other documents that may be helpful in taking care of the housekeeping side of an activity.

The crew at the Farm Museum, located near Bellerose in Glen Oaks, are hoping for a great turnout for its Bee-a-Pollinator Earth Day on April 22nd. More details can be found on the Farm website.
