Kids are often fascinated by the natural world around them, and a Bellerose area activity series will introduce them to some of the creepy-crawlies they may find in their own backyard.
The Queens Farm Museum offers learning opportunities for the young and old, and its Bug Buddies program provides kids with nature-based, hands-on learning. There are 12 installments scheduled for 2026, and a discount is on offer for those who register for all of them.
The series kicks off with a session dedicated to millipedes and centipedes, and the subsequent installments will explore species of snails, slugs, ants, worms, arachnids, fireflies, and more. The participants will make discoveries about their role in the natural world.
Each of the sessions runs for one hour and 15 minutes. A discount is available to members, and spots must be reserved in advance. There is free parking on site, and the restroom is accessible to those who require a mobility device.
Organizers of workshops and other activities for kids may call for handouts and other learning materials. Stationery printers will be happy to help.
The Bug Buddies program starts on Sunday, January 11 and continues with one installment per month until December 13. A registration page can be found on the Museum’s website, and the participating fee starts at $12 plus any applicable taxes.
