Queens Botanical Garden hosts an assortment of workshops and other activities for the public, and one that is on the way for June will teach how to prepare specialty papers.
Artist Chloe Seinert will soon serve as the facilitator for a Bellerose area paper making workshop, which will transform an assortment of organic materials gathered from the garden along with recycled items, into handmade papers. It will run for two hours, and attendance is free with admission to the venue.
The session is being offered in conjunction with the Twin Urn’s Project, which is being undertaken by the artist herself. Everyone will be walked through the process of crafting their paper, and they can take it home with them once it has drawn to a close. They will be asked to leave a page at the Urns, and these will be used for visitors to write down any secrets of wishes they like. They will be burned at the end of the season, and then be used to fertilize the plants grown in the Garden.
A class or other activity that offers an opportunity to learn something new may require Copies of handouts as well as other custom materials. Stationery printers can provide this service.
