The Taste of Downtown is a showcase of many Carson City restaurants, local shops and galleries coming up for residents and city visitors.
The event had relatively humble beginnings over a decade ago, when just seven eating establishments and one band fed and entertained about 500 people. The Taste of Downtown has grown to be a premier event with over 40 restaurants, more than a dozen shops and seven live bands scheduled to participate this year. Attendance at the 2024 evening event is expected to exceed 2000.
The summer festivals contributes towards a range of local charities and non-profit organizations, helping them continue to support various Carson City residents. In addition to the charitable benefits, The Taste of Downtown shines a much-needed spotlight on the historic town center and has proven the capital city is ideal for social gatherings, solidifying the city's commitment to ongoing revitalization.
Area businesses, groups and organizations, as well as individuals, are encouraged to get involved in the event, whether through direct participation, sponsorship or as an event volunteer. A local poster printing company can be used by both sponsors and event organizers to encourage attendance at the downtown celebration.
The Taste of Downtown is scheduled for June 15, from 5:30pm-9:00pm, with live music continuing until 10pm. Tickets are priced at $40.
